OUR METHOD

Congratulations on taking the next step toward your civilian career.
VeteranCare is proud to support veterans through structured education and school-supervised externship

training designed to build real-world skills and long-term career readiness.

Our programs combine academic instruction with instructor-supervised externships completed with approved employer partners. Students remain enrolled and under the direction of VeteranCare throughout the externship experience, ensuring consistent oversight, learning objectives, and documented progress.

Training Built for Today’s Workforce

  • VeteranCare delivers industry-relevant training that includes:
  • Classroom and online academic instruction
  • School-supervised externships aligned with program outcomes
  • Preparation for applicable state licenses and industry certifications, where required
  • Current safety practices, codes, and regulatory awareness
  • Winning Edge: Work Essential Skills, focusing on professionalism, leadership fundamentals, and project awareness
  • Externships With Academic Oversight
  • Our externship model is not an apprenticeship or employer-led job training program. All externship activities are structured, monitored, and evaluated by VeteranCare instructors and academic staff. This ensures learning remains the focus while students gain practical, hands-on experience in their chosen field.

Veteran-Focused Support

Our academic team works directly with students and externship sites to track assignments, competencies, evaluations, and completion requirements. We handle the organization and documentation so you can focus on learning, skill development, and your transition to civilian employment.

At VeteranCare, we honor your service by providing clear pathways, accountable training, and the support veterans deserve.

Why the Skilled Trades Matter

The skilled trades are among the fastest-growing and most in-demand career fields in South Carolina and across the nation. As experienced trades professionals retire, employers face a growing skills gap and an urgent need for dependable, well-trained workers. For transitioning veterans, the skilled trades offer a strong pathway to stable, purpose-driven careers that value hands-on problem-solving, teamwork, discipline, and leadership—skills developed through military service. Careers in construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, manufacturing, and related trades provide long-term opportunities for advancement, portability across states, and the chance to build something lasting while contributing directly to local communities and the national workforce.
